MISTRESS OF THE DARK ALGORITHM

The piece was created for a cover of incredible sci-fi book "Harvard Necromancer" by Alexander Panchin @scinquisitor (published in Russian, I will let you know as soon as it is translated in English). I was instantly obsessed with a concept when I first read the brief plot and was even more impressed later after reading the book. By the way there is a part inspired by my "Crypto Styx" piece - the protagonist talks about "soul as a blockchain". The scientists in the novel accidentally prove the existence of "magic". The main character describes the experiments in which the death of living organisms with human genes leads to unexplainable effects. They come up with a theory that those miracles are the bugs of the simulation we are living in. The scientist suggests a metaphor of some Goddess-Architecture, a simulation itself, she analyzes dead scientists "data" and constantly fixes the bugs. She is not a classic God though - "there is no reason for a omniscient and omnipotent God to create something capable of thinking and calculating like humans. But the limited and imperfect programmer has plenty of motives". Our universe is trying to understand her own self. The book is about the absence of edge between reality and simulation, between natural and artificial intelligence. Still regardless of whether we live in the real world or stimulation, we need science in order to cognize the world around us 🙌🔬🔮✨
